Zebra Print Table Runner and Tray

Zebra Print Table Runner....And Tray too!

So...I wanted a new table runner for my dining room table and as I mentioned before, I'm trying to add more GREEN!  I saw this fabric at the fabric store and I LOVED IT!  Had to have it!

OH....AND THANKS FOR STOPPING BY MY BLOG!  I WOULD LOVE IF YOU CLICKED ON FOLLOW IN THE SIDE BAR & BECAME A FOLLOWER!  THANK YOU!

Bought a couple tassels to match...and I was in business!

I used a table runner I already had for measurements....

I trimmed up around the edges leaving about 1/4" to hem

And the finished product!  Added a couple tassels and I was done in about 30 minutes!  LOVE IT!

Zebra Tray

So I had some left over fabric and I wanted to cover the bottom of this tray I have had forever.  Just wanted to give it some interest.  But I didn't have a BIG enough piece to cover it soooo.....

I DECOUPAGED WITH FABRIC STRIPS!

So I grabbed a bottle of Elmer's glue left over from 'school supplies' from years ago...

Added some water....

Started dipping the fabric strips into the glue and lining the bottom of the tray.

Then....I let it dry and it was EXACTLY what I was hoping for!

Perfect Pesto Sauce!

Oh my gosh...so super healthy but ONLY in moderation.....

Welcome to my blog and welcome back if you are a returning visitor!  I'd LOVE if you would stay awhile and click on 'follow' to become a follower!

So tonight, I made a homemade Pesto Sauce I think is SUPER PERFECT!  I could NOT stop dipping my finger and eating it (not good).  It's a heart healthy sauce but ONLY in moderation.  My 5 yr old son LOVES to smell.  I had him come smell the BASIL and he LOVED it.  Told him I was gonna make a sauce with it.....and .... wooo..hooo... HE ate it because he knew what it was made of!

Nutritional Info Per Serving:  I didn't count this one but it's SUPER HEART healthy in moderation
Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cook Time: 0....not counting what you make to go with it.

1 - cup packed basil leaves
1/2 - cup water
1/2 - cup Extra virgin olive oil
2 - garlic cloves, peeled
1/3 - cup toasted walnuts (toasted brings out the flavor!)
1/4 - cup sun dried tomatoes
1/2 - teaspoon salt
1/4 - teaspoon pepper
1/3 - cup shredded parmesan

Soooo...I use my Magic Bullet  to blend these items and I would NEVER go back after buying one.  SERIOUSLY..... it's on My Favorite Things.  Add into your  Magic Bullet or food processor/blender all the ingredients above and BLEND and PUREE!

adding the salt....
My 5 year old came home from picking 'flowers' for Momma...heart melting!

I can't tell you how good this was....I am SO good at self control and I lost ALL of it with this Pesto.  Tastes and smells amazing.

Try it dribbled on top of cream cheese for a cracker dip too!

Tool Box Upcycle

Tool Box UPCYCLE!

Our town has a 'garbage day' ONCE a year where you can put all your garbage out on the street including big stuff like broken dressers and toilets for pick up by the garbage company.

As you can image....MANY people throw out AWESOME things!  And my mom and I...become DUMPSTER DIVERS!  Yes, I'm not kidding.  It's not actually a dumpster...we just drive around the neighborhoods and there is AMAZING stuff for the taking right on the street...FREE!

I found this old wooden tool box banged up and beaten and stained.  I LOVED it!

So first I had to clean it, wiped it out and vacuumed and lightly sanded it.

In the living room, I'm trying to bring in some of the greens and LIME greens.  So I started with this lime green dutch boy paint leftover from another project.

I didn't want to paint it SOLID so I dry brushed it.  Wanted to show the CHARM of the piece but still give the color base.  Turned out to be a great base but a little TOO lime green for me.  (And the pictures don't do it any justice!)

Then...since it was too FLUORESCENT I decided to add some ARMY green or Olive type green to give it some depth and mute the lime green tones a little.

I LOOOOOOOVED the look so...let it dry.  I had already decided I wanted to use it on the coffee table and refurbish it into a remote type caddy.

I LOVE how this turned OUT!  To the point where...you know....you look at it every time you walk in the room! :)

Anyway,  THANK YOU for stopping by my blog!  I would LOVE if you would click on FOLLOW in the sidebar and become a FOLLOWER

And stay tuned...I got more than one thing when we went out junking. :)

Mexi - Chicken Enchiladas

(Chicken courtesy of Adrienne O.)
Thanks so much for your chicken recipe Adrienne!

Welcome to my blog and welcome back if you are a returning visitor!  I'd LOVE if you would stay awhile and click on 'follow' to become a follower!

Remember:  Recipes Posted Every Week Day....so hopefully we will see you tomorrow!

Tonight....was......ready for it...................Mexi-Chicken Enchiladas.  We went to the O Families for dinner one night and they had a taco party.  She had the most amazing chicken for the tacos I had EVER had except at my favorite Mexican restaraunt.  I've NEVER forgotten that chicken.  Well,  SHE is just awesome enough to give me her SUPER SIMPLE recipe and I am INNNNNNN HEAVEN!

Thank you Thank you again Adrienne...they were totally Awesome!

Nutritional Info Per Serving:  About 300 calories each
Preparation Time: About 10 minutes
Cook Time:  8 hours in the crock pot....20 minutes in the oven
Number of Servings: 5

3 - Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts FROZEN
1 - small jar of your favorite salsa
1 - medium sized onion chopped
1 - packet taco seasoning
5 - reduced fat tortillas
1 - 16 oz can of mild enchilada sauce

1/2 - cup shredded cheddar cheese

Start by setting your crock pot on low and adding your FROZEN chicken breasts, chopped onion, salsa and packet of taco seasoning all together in the crock pot IN THE MORNING! Put the lid on and leave it for 8 hours.

After about 8 hours, turn off the crock pot. Take a fork and start shredding the chicken...it will just FALL APART and TASTE divine!  (Super Healthy too!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Build the chicken into each of your tortillas and roll.  Place seam side down in a pan sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray.

(We used Jalapeno tortillas...that's why they look green...:)

Open your can of enchilada sauce and pour evenly over the enchiladas in the pan making sure to cover ALL the edges.

Note:  If you open it like this it will pour out perfectly for you.

Sprinkle your cheese on top....I only use a little to keep it on the healthy side.  And you will notice that my enchilada doesn't have ANY....:)

Place a tented piece of tin foil on top...so it doesn't stick to your cheese but keeps it from drying out.

Then put it in the oven for 20 minutes.

And then, you FINALLY get to eat what has been smelling so good this WHOLE time!
Enjoy!
