Chalkboard Teacher Thank You Gifts

Chalkboard Teacher Thank You Gifts!

So tonight...my 5 year old son GRADUATES from Preschool and will move onto kindergarten in the fall.  Sniff, Sniff, tear...tear.  So bitter sweet, my boy is growing up.

But he has had the most AWESOME year with two AMAZING Preschool teachers!  I wanted to let them know how much they are appreciated. Sooo.....I came up with this simple, easy yet thoughtful inexpensive gift for each of them.

I sprayed TWO pots with CHALKBOARD PAINT (spray) -- click here for your own....

I made a tag for each of them with a CRAFT stick, two identical tags I had left from another project and some glue sticks.  I just wrote - THANK YOU on each one and attached a rope to the tag hole.

I personalized each one by writing the last name of each teacher on the pots in chalk.  Then put an inexpensive plant in each one.

I HOPE they like them and know how appreciated they are!!!

Thank you for popping by my blog today!  I'll be gone for the weekend -- enjoy your Memorial Day as well!  See you Monday!

Spice Garden in the Kitchen

Spice Garden in the Kitchen

So I wanted fresh herbs...to do all my recipes with ... but without buying them already cut because they go bad.  HERBS were on SALE today!  Yahoo!
But....I also had this VISION in my head of what I wanted the pots to look like and........it wasn't at the store.  Soooooo, I bought a few craft items and here we ARE!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!  I'M SO GLAD YOU STOPPED BY AND WOULD LOVE IF YOU CLICKED ON 'FOLLOW' TO BECOME A FOLLOWER!

Here are my supplies....

I started by painting each pot with this green paint I had left over in the garage from another project.  I LOVE this green...kind of an olive color.  I left some of the clay showing through to give it 'that' look.

Then I added sticker letters and a string to each of these tags I bought pre-made at the store.  I picked letters to label what was going into each pot of course.

Then I glued each label to each pot and started painting dots around the rim of the pots.  I used the butt end of my paint brush and just dipped it into a cream colored craft paint I had in my craft cupboard.

Potted my plants in each one....and they are done!  Even put them on my window ledge above my sink BEFORE they were completely dry! :)

NOW...I HAVE MY OWN SPICES RIGHT IN MY OWN KITCHEN FOR TOMORROW NIGHT'S RECIPE!  STAY TUNED....
